New Public Elementary School On Burnaby Mountain
On January 29, 2009 the province signed an agreement with the Burnaby Board of Education to build a new elementary school located at the heart of the UniverCity development on Burnaby Mountain. "We are delighted to see a new public elementary school that will support the educational needs of children in this community," Burnaby Board of Education Chair Diana Mumford said. "The SFU neighbourhood community is growing quickly, and it is the strong partnerships between our district, the City of Burnaby and UniverCity, along with the funding from the Ministry of Education that will build this new school, with many benefits to the community now and in the future."
