BURNABY SCHOOL DISTRICT

YOUTH SUSTAINABILITY TEAM

Burnaby has made sustainability a priority throughout the district, a topic that concerns us all. Key to sustainability success to date has been the enthusiastic leadership of district students who continue to be a tremendous resource of skills, empowerment and inspiration as we move forward with district sustainability initiatives.

On March 25, the District hosted a unique event for its key environmental champions with more than 100 students, teachers and administrators sharing and celebrating the sustainability projects that are currently taking place in their respective schools. The day also included engaged discussion with guests from the City, District, Board and environmental youth organizations on what could be done better and what more can be done to minimize our impact on the environment.
